Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian singer-songwriter. Her catalog includes more than twenty albums. DiFranco categorizes her music under the terms folk-rock and alternative. But it has influences from punk, hip-hop, and jazz. Ani Difranco has been widely considered to be a symbol of feminist music. In 1990 she was one of the first artists to create her own independent record label. DiFranco was born on the 23rd of September 1970, in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Dante Americo DiFranco. Both her parents were both of Montreal from Montreal.
